Horsell Residents' Association was formed in 1965 as a non-political group open to all adult residents of Horsell and is founded as a limited company, Horsell Residents Association Ltd with number 05377490. HRA became a registered charity in 2015 with charity number 1162487.
It is governed by a constitution and has an elected Committee of local people, a large membership which any Horsell resident aged 18 or over can join, and it issues a regular free magazine "The Resident" to every household in Horsell.
It exists as "the independent voice of Horsell" to:
- Promote, uphold and protect the interests of residents in all matters affecting or likely to affect Horsell and its environs.
- Bring to the notice of relevant authorities or bodies those matters affecting the interests of Horsell residents, and accordingly keep its members informed.
- Support and promote social and benevolent activities for the general benefit of Horsell residents, and fundraise in support of such activities.
The work of the HRA is undertaken by volunteers who contribute their valuable experience, skills and expertise to a wide variety of community activities.
